Baby Gun

Baby Gun is a preachy, cheeky visual rant about our totally off-kilter development, the painful and at times hilarious gap between our material “progress” and our human ridiculousness, about how bizarre it is that we can put people on the moon but can't seem to stop hurting each other and the planet that gave us life. This situation is tantamount to putting a loaded gun in the hands of a baby, massive power in the hands of an infant. We can now manipulate the fabric of the world to the point where most of the material limitations we have faced through history really are gone - and yet our mind-based limitations continue to create prejudice, famine, poverty, war, environmental poisoning. If we don't shift into a new consciousness, we're going to annihilate ourselves in an ugly stranglehold with the same technology we desperately hoped would liberate us. These paintings teeter on the edge of hope and cynicism, love and hate. We sense the potential within us to be more, both as individuals and as a human family - and we have serious doubts about each other and what is going to happen. Our species is fundamentally good and innocent, but in its infancy - we know not what we do. I'd love it if we could all wake up, wake up and realize we are all the same and one, and that we are the same and one with the planet.
